About Lucy Lapinska
Lucy Lapinska is the author of SOME BODY LIKE ME, their debut adult speculative fiction novel, published by Gollancz in April 2025.
They have previously been published as L. D. Lapinski, writing bestselling children's books such as the ARTEZANS trilogy, JAMIE, Stepfather Christmas, KICKFLIP and The Strangeworlds Travel Agency series, as well as DOCTOR WHO: Charles Darwin and the Silurian Survival for the BBC.
Lapinska's books are published around the world in eighteen languages, and each book in the Strangeworlds trilogy and the standalone novel JAMIE have been awarded a Kirkus star - one of the most coveted designations in the book industry, marking books of exceptional merit. JAMIE and KICKFLIP have both been nominated for the Carnegie Medal. In 2024, Lapinska was honoured with the Outstanding Alumni Award from Nottingham Trent University.
Lapinska lives in Inverness with their family, a lot of books, and two cats called Hector and Rory.
